Title
Cogito, ergo sum and/or Carpe diem
(i.e. are we really growing (learning/thinking)?
Description
We are surrounded by media and much can be obtained not only for free but also on different platforms… free newspapers, iPhone, TV, YouTube and so on. The amount of information is overwhelming, sometimes even scary. Where is this going? How does/will this influence us and the world around us?
In this workshop we move away from our own personal experience and opinion and look from at three generations represented by personas that very roughly sketch the diversity in needs within the society.
Timeline
- 09.30 Introduction
- 10.30 Needs I: 3 generations: “customer research”
Instead of discussing our own experiences and needs we will get close to (observing) customers and emerge ourselves in their life, media consumption and needs. We’ll make sketches, photos and make a collage to visualize their life. - 12.00 Lunch
- 13.30 Needs II: mapping the needs
To get some more structure and direction we will map our findings on a needs map. We’ll identify differences as well as commonalities and will use the outcome for the next step. - 14.30 Existing answers and Disruptive solutions
Now we know how people consume media and what their need are, we will mix existing solutions with our creativity to come up with new and disruptive solutions. We want to look at this situation with new eyes and see through the complexity. We won’t have a déjà vu, but turn it around and have a wonderful “Vujàdé”! - 16.30 Summary & Discussion
We’ll finalize and summarize our results on three maps and discuss the results. - 17.00 End
